On Jan. 25-27, the Classic Learning Test (CLT) released its 2021 national school rankings. DVCS ranked in the top 20 schools for the CLT8 and CLT10.
Last year’s DVCS 7th and 8th graders, who took the CLT8 in May 2021, ranked #3 in the nation with an average of 82.75. The national average was 58.
Last year’s 9th and 10th graders took the CLT10, an alternative to the PSAT. DVCS ranked #20 in the nation. Then-10th grader Megan Li was also recognized as a 2021 Regional Scholar for scoring in the top 5% of the Northeast region.
The CLT is an alternative to the SAT or ACT that aims to reclaim intellectual richness and rigor. It presents students with time-honored, meaningful texts and assesses their verbal reasoning, grammar and writing, and quantitative reasoning.
The CLT10 is an alternative to the PSAT, and the CLT8 serves as a benchmark and helps students prepare for the CLT10 and CLT.
More than 200 colleges accept the CLT, and many offer scholarships to students who score highly on the CLT.
This year, DVCS students will take the CLT in February, the CLT10 in April, and the CLT8 in May.
