DVCS Annual Fund

The DVCS Annual Fund is the bedrock of our school’s fundraising efforts. Our model is built on community, generosity, and philanthropy. It provides the critical resources needed to help DVCS meet its annual budget by offsetting the cost of tuition remission for families, supporting extracurricular activities, and enabling the school to expand amenities (including the purchase and operation of transportation vehicles). Moreover, the annual fund provides an important vehicle for the community to support the DVCS mission “to assist parents in preparing their children to excel in every duty and calling God has for them by providing a classical and Christ-centered curriculum designed to equip graduates with the tools to acquire, process, express, and defend knowledge from a biblical worldview.”

Frequently Asked Questions

The Annual Fund includes operational budget items as it is a goal announced at last year’s State of the School to have tuition covering 100% of expenses, though we have not yet attained that goal. The annual fund essentials outside the school’s operating budget as well, including professional development, curriculum enhancement, new technology, athletic programs, performing arts, financial aid, and more. These gifts are essential to the school’s excellence and financial strength.

Tuition revenue does not provide 100 percent of the school’s operating budget. This is a goal announced at last year’s State of the School though we have not yet attained that goal. DVCS relies upon annual fund giving, capital gifts, and other non-tuition revenue to enhance the school’s resources and help ensure that our students have exceptional opportunities in the areas of academics, athletics, and the arts. Tuition increases can be controlled through the budget-relieving support that the Annual Fund provides.

YES, it certainly does! Your gift, combined with those from alumni, parents, grandparents, and friends, provides substantial support for the ongoing programmatic needs of the school. Every gift is an expression of support for DVCS, and every gift helps.

Participation matters because many foundations only fund schools that demonstrate wide support by their own alumni and parents. Participation level is also a factor in a school’s bond rating. Your gift is a show of your commitment to the school and a sign of the school’s strength.

You have until June 30 to fulfill your pledge. It is helpful to DVCS if you make your commitment early in the fiscal year, even if you don’t pay until later.
