Our Mission

Delaware Valley Classical School assists parents in preparing children to excel in every duty and calling God has for them by providing a classical and Christ-centered curriculum that equips graduates with the tools to acquire, process, express, and defend knowledge from a biblical worldview.

Our Vision

In partnership with parents, Delaware Valley Classical School seeks to cultivate joyful and humble young Christian men and women who listen carefully, reason wisely, and think clearly; who write well and speak persuasively; who are grounded in the liberal arts with theology as the queen of all study; who are adept at recognizing the foolishness of the “wisdom” of this world; and who are able to evaluate the entire range of their experience in the light of biblical truth, with eagerness and joyful submission to God. We also seek to help students to develop their God-given talents in ways that will allow them to seek, with confidence, any good endeavor the Lord puts before them. We aim to provide an orderly and disciplined academic environment in which our students demonstrate godly character and manners, treat each other kindly, and apply biblical principles in their dealings with one another.

A PORTRAIT OF A DVCS GRADUATE

By the grace of God, we desire to graduate students who…

  • Are followers of Jesus Christ, who understand and embrace the Gospel and enjoy a sincere and growing faith.
  • Wage battle with sin and fight against those things which are contrary to the Word of God and which are destructive to individuals and communities.
  • Desire to be engaged in authentic Christian community and live with the knowledge that all is done in the presence of God.
  • Possess a masterful command of language and the rhetorical skills to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Reason critically, independently, and expansively with a view toward loving God and loving others.
  • Desire to serve the Kingdom of God and serve their community faithfully.
  • Possess the tools for lifelong learning and embody an earnestness and curiosity about God’s created world that transcends their self-interest.
  • Have an established aesthetic that manifests in good taste recognizing the objective nature of beauty and truth.
  • Are not easily swayed by fads.
  • Can laugh well and heartily as unto the Lord because there is a reason for deep and abiding hope within them!
  • Are courageous and thankful.

Our Core Values

Excellence

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. -Colossians 3:23-24

Wisdom

Wisdom is better than jewels, and all that you may desire cannot compare with her.
-Proverbs 8-11

Joy

These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.
-John 15:11

Gratitude

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!
-Psalm 118:29

Statement of Faith

The Bible is the final authority in all matters of faith and doctrine. While subordinate to Scripture, DVCS also considers the Westminster Confession of Faith with the Larger and Shorter Catechisms to best summarize the doctrine and theological vision that shapes, guides, and governs the school.

Accreditation

Delaware Valley Classical School is an accredited school of The Association of Classical Christian Schools (ACCS).

ACCS accreditation is a rigorous process that thoroughly evaluates a school’s implementation of the classical Christian philosophy of education, satisfying a foundational set of requirements. DVCS is one of only 66 schools nationwide to receive full ACCS accreditation which was first granted in April 2009.

DVCS is also accredited by the National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA).
