Welcome from the Head of School

Thank you for visiting the website of Delaware Valley Classical School (DVCS). It is my pleasure to welcome you!

At many schools,  education has been reduced to a transactional relationship focused almost solely on tests and grades. DVCS moves in a different direction. Let me briefly explain why DVCS is a wise choice for your child.

We are an educational community rooted in the historic Christian faith, seeking to cultivate thinking, articulate students who are able to reason well, work with excellence, and communicate clearly and persuasively. Our students learn in a different way — first in part by memorizing via song and jingles, and then by asking questions, reading original texts, and using logic to reach educated conclusions. We see joy and gratitude as fundamentally part of the educational process: joy in learning true, good, and beautiful things and gratitude to God and to all who aid the students on their journey.

Education, to truly be education, must be intentionally formative. Students are keen observers of behavior. Our school’s purpose is toward loving God and cultivating virtue. We want our students to love deep intellectual engagement coupled with wisdom and hearts that long to serve their neighbor. Prayerfully, students are imbued with a sense of wonder about God’s created order that prepares them for lives of apprehension of  truth, goodness, and beauty, and also prepares them academically for any call placed on their lives.

We are accredited by the Association of Classical Christian Schools (ACCS). If you’d like to know more about DVCS, including how we may be the right fit for your child, please contact us at admissions@dvclassical.org, and we’ll be happy to schedule a time for you to come in to explore what makes DVCS such a unique and valuable option for your family.

I look forward to meeting you!

Sincerely,

Anthony G. Urti
