Three Questions for Your Family to Consider

Do you enjoy a sincere and growing faith in Jesus Christ?

DVCS is a classical Christian school, and places strong emphasis on development of Christian virtue. This is an intentional aspect of the daily life and rhythm of our school. Additionally, we see education as a partnership between parents and the school. If you share this vision for education where staff and faculty are aligned with your Christian beliefs, DVCS may be the place for you.

Do you see rigorous education and joy as able to coexist?

We place high priority on a strong academic setting, and establishing sound academic principles while students are young. They are capable of more than they’re often given credit for. However, we believe excellence and rigor can and should coexist in a joyful setting. There are expectations and habit training which is a necessary prerequisite to academic success. But excellence is not perfection, and we do not expect the latter.

Does your family love to read good books?

Discernment and imagination are fostered by early and often exposure to great literature, language, and history. Whether you currently have a well-established habit of reading with and to your children, or simply understand the value of moving in this direction, DVCS will provide a strong foundation for reading with an eye toward a vision for joyful and humble young Christian men and women who listen carefully, reason wisely, and think clearly; who write well, speak persuasively; and are grounded in the liberal arts.
